Promo codes are an important tool we use to help publishers share their titles, run promotions, and drive visibility across major platforms. Whether you’re distributing review copies or promoting sales on social media, our system makes it simple to request and manage codes across Apple and Kobo. Here’s how each type of promo code works and what you can expect from the process.
Free Copy Promo Codes
Apple Review Copy Codes
Publishers can request free-copy codes from Apple to distribute for reviews, promotional outreach, or early access.
Key features include:
- Automatically generated random codes
- Valid for 30 days from the date of creation
- Up to 250 codes per title
- Easy to share with reviewers, influencers, or partners
Because Apple handles the code generation and expiration, these codes are ideal for quick, time-sensitive outreach.
Kobo Review Copy Codes
Kobo offers a more customizable approach to free-copy codes. When requesting Kobo codes, publishers can define several parameters:
- Number of redemptions: Limit how many people can claim the copy
- Active date range: Choose when the code begins and ends
- Territories: Restrict availability to specific countries or regions
Kobo can automatically generate a random code, or you can create a publisher-branded vanity code. This gives you complete control over distribution, timing, and audience reach.
Discount Promo Codes
In addition to free review copies, publishers can request discount codes for Kobo to help drive engagement especially for social media campaigns or seasonal promotions.
Kobo Discount Code Options
Kobo’s discount codes function similarly to their free-copy codes, with the same customizable parameters:
- Redemption limits
- Start and end dates
- Territory restrictions
You also have full flexibility in setting the discount amount:
- Anywhere from 1% off to 99% off
As with free-copy codes, Kobo can generate a random code for you, or you can supply a custom vanity code such as Publisher25, SummerReads, or any other branded identifier that fits your campaign.
If you would like to create any of these types of codes, please be sure to reach out to eBOUND’s Sales and Marketing Manager at least one week before the code is needed.
Happy promo-ing!
