In addition to distribution of ebook metadata, CoreSource is able to distribute metadata for your print books to vendors and other members of the publishing supply chain as well.
Delivering print metadata simultaneously with ebook metadata ties the print and digital editions of a book more closely and will help prevent separate listings for the same title and speed up the posting of titles at retailer’s sites.
Metadata is distributed to partners once a week, and can be set up to automatically distribute through CoreSource. Publishers can distribute metadata in either Excel or ONIX format, and some vendors will also take cover image files for print titles.
CoreSource is currently sending print metadata to the following list of vendors:
AIDC (American International Distribution Corp)
American Reading Company
Baker & Taylor
Barnes & Noble
Christian Book Distributors
Complete Book & Media Supply
Copyright Clearance Center
Covington & Burling
Follett HE Group
Georgetown Terminal Warehouse
Indigo (Indigo Chapters)
Library of Congress
Matthews Book Company
MBS Textbook Exchange
National Book Swap
Research and Markets
RR Donnelly Asia
The Book Company
If you would like to send print metadata to a vendor or other organization that is not on the list, you can simply fill out a new channel form and have eBOUND create a distribution channel for that vendor in your CoreSource account. For tips on how to fill out a new channel form, please see our Adding New Distribution Channels tutorial.
