Digital Services Intern Description
eBOUND Canada is offering an 18 week contract focused on supporting the production and distribution of accessible digital books by Canadian independent publishers. Reporting to the Digital Services Specialist, the Digital Services Intern will be responsible for providing support to the conversion phase of multiple accessibility projects to convert large ebook collections into formats that can be accessible to all Canadians. The Digital Services Intern will work closely with the Digital Services Specialist to provide source files to conversion partners, complete a quality assurance check on completed files and monitor completeness of conversions by a specified deadline. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the changing landscape of accessibility in Canadian publishing.
Digital Services Intern Details
The Digital Services Intern will be expected to work 3 days per week ($25 per hour) and will receive all necessary training and resources to successfully complete all assigned tasks, which will include:
● Review and complete quality assurance checks on final converted files
● Save converted files in an organized manner
● Monitor ongoing completeness of multiple conversion projects to ensure they meet
● Additional tasks to support the Technology or Marketing department
The position will begin the week of November 22nd , ending April 1st.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and well-equipped to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Valuable skills include an intermediate understanding of Excel, knowledge of digital book publishing and ebooks, and an interest in accessibility will be beneficial.
